Taking Care Mental Health
There is a number of things you can do to take care of your mental health:
Look after yourself
- Make sure that you eat well and try to enjoy food
- Good sleep is essential to both your physical and mental health; lack of or poor sleep is likely to cause emotional and mental health problems
- Physical exercise, done in a way that you enjoy, always helps
- Alcohol and/or drug use are also conducive to emotional and mental health problems
- Allow yourself to find pleasure and satisfaction in your everyday life
Be kind to yourself
- Try not to judge yourself harshly
- Try not to hate yourself for who you are
- Set achievable goals, reward yourself when you achieve them and do not reject yourself in case you do not
Talk to someone
- Do not bottle up your stress and concerns
- Do not isolate yourself
- Engage yourself in activities
- Try new things
And even if all these are too much for you
- Ask for help – there is always someone who can help you
